In celebration of Women’s History Month, March 2022

Following on from our post yesterday on the Cosmos Ladies Lawn Tennis Club of Gympie, here is a wonderful photograph of a mixed tennis group in Kilkivan, circa 1908.

A tennis club team called “Town View” was formed in Kilkivan and matches were played with other localities in the district and others journeyed to Kilkivan and vice versa for matches such as Glastonbury.

One such team titled “Emoh Ruo” played against “Town View” in the 1930’s. Suspicions say that “Emoh Ruo” is a play on words as spelt backwards is “Our Home”.
