It was only last year that we were celebrating the sesquicentenary birthday (150th) of One Mile State School, Gympie.
WBQ8 recorded news footage of the celebrations and that is the video we have a copy of.

Let’s take you back another 50 years to the centenary celebrations in September 1969. The video begins with a parade along Mary Street with children from the school, including the school captains, the One Mile Girls School Choir, past teachers, a fife band and members of the Gympie Musical Union – just to name a few. And, of course, lots of onlookers.

Read all about it. The Gympie Times reported on the the celebrations and the procession.

The second half of the video features celebrations at One Mile State School.
We see the Honourable Allen Maxwell Hodges, MA, Minister for Works and Housing unveil the celebratory plaque, on 20th day of September, 1969.

Many attended the celebrations at the school.
